Plenty of Plants is a game I made in 48 hours for Ludum Dare 53.

Ludum Dare is a game jam where game developers are presented with a theme, and given a limitied amount of time to make a game based around that theme.

This time the theme was "Delivery."

The game is a roguelike gardenbuilder where you grow and deliver plants in exchange for water so you don't die of thirst.

The game draws a lot from my previous game, a roguelike deckbuilder called Luck be a Landlord.

I hope you like it!

As someone working on a game that centers around a rent mechanic, I'm finding this really interesting.

I'm a bit curious why you went with three turns of nothing at the start, though. It feels like the player is forced to start in a hole, even though rent isn't required until the second cycle.

I really liked this, took a few tries because I'm a bit dumb but I got it in the end :)

The art and style is quite similar the "luck to be a landlord"

That would be because TrampolineTales made Luck Be A Landlord.

I second the idea of a below comment, where you choose which flowers to keep and which to sell, because as it stands any depth in the game doesn't really work because you get rid of all your plants every 10 or so spins. but i know you have it in you to make this game as great as luck be a landlord. good luck!

Browser enabled! Nice. Addicting like LBAL! Nice.

Interesting game! I'm not sure that this concept is currently working as well as LBAL does, but I'm sure you already know that. I think the main thing that feels lacking is how it doesn't feel like you can really build towards anything. I pulled a very rare plant, and it got delivered after just a few turns, which felt kind of bad. I feel like if you could find a way to redesign this so you kept your plants, instead of delivering them, that would be a more satisfying experience.

Yes, like you're some kind of garden designer. Then, if you're able to group certain plants or create certain patterns, you get bonus feng shui points or something.
